SPIRIT OF OUR MISSION
Walking in the forest
whether it is in my backyard or a city park is always relaxing and comforting to
me. Smelling the pine needles and the fall leaves and hearing the wind
rustle through the leaves and the sweet songs of the birds calms the spirit but also
inspires me. During a busy hectic day when I want to unwind, a stroll in
the forest soothes my nerves and tranquilizes my soul. I then am able to
move onto the next challenge of the day. Reminders of the forest brought
inside your home and office or wore by you are easy ways to remember that comforting feeling that a
walk in the forest brings. The Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York
was my favorite family vacation area as a kid. Growing mostly in New York State I was surrounded by hardwood forests. Now I live in an aspen forest in the
dramatic mountains of Utah. Facinated with the pattern of stones I collected fossils in New York State as a kid and crystals and petrified wood in Utah. I was drawn to the creations that rustic furniture builders made out of nature's trees and branches. My fascination with these creative forms turned into a hobby of building rustic furniture for my home. Working with the natural form and beauty of the wood and forming functional pieces of furniture is very rewarding. The Arts and Crafts Period in the early 1900s
promoted the ideal of simple, handcrafted well made furniture, houses, and household goods which were not only
functional but were also beautiful and blend in well with the natural environment. The Adirondacks, the mountains and the Arts
and Crafts Period work well together in bringing the spirit of the forest to you
for your enjoyment. Why are we using the Internet? To help save the FORESTS by using less paper! I hope you are able to feel the spirit of the forest with these
quality functional and beautiful products. If you are visiting Park City, Utah please call us for a visit to our store. Thank you for visiting RUSTIC
